Striking Modern Mullumbimby Home with Soaring Ceilings, Leafy Reserve Outlook with Spacious Family Layout

For this German family, this home was the perfect blend of space, setting, and lifestyle — a long search rewarded with the ideal Mullumbimby home that ticked every box

This Buyer's Journey

This German family had long dreamed of owning a home in Mullumbimby — a place to truly make their own after years of helping others improve theirs. Having worked on rental properties in exchange for accommodation, they’d well and truly caught the renovation bug and were eager to one day pour that energy into a place of their own.

We first connected well before they were ready to buy, during a time when the idea of homeownership was still a future goal. I introduced them to key professionals who could help them understand their buying potential when the time came. Then, 18 months later, they were given short notice to vacate their rental — a moment that, while initially deflating, sparked the realisation that this could finally be their opportunity to get onto the property ladder.

How I helped find the perfect home

With time feeling short and pressure mounting, I worked closely with this family to bring clarity and calm to what initially felt like an overwhelming situation. Once we had a clear brief, I set to work exploring every available option — both on and off-market — while also liaising behind the scenes with key professionals to navigate the more complex aspects of their purchase, particularly due to their foreign status.

There were emotional highs and lows along the way, and a big part of my role was offering consistent, honest support and handholding through what is a very different process than buying property in Germany. I maintained regular communication and created tailored video walk-throughs of potential properties, allowing them to explore each home at their own pace, from the comfort of their current home and around their work and family commitments. This helped them refine what they really wanted — a property they could renovate, add value to, and make their own.

We looked at a range of homes across several suburbs, including rural options, but ultimately narrowed it down to two serious contenders. After a thorough comparison, the decision became clear — the in-town property offered the ideal mix of space, layout, and location for their family. Positioned at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, with leafy reserve outlooks and generous proportions, it ticked nearly every item on their original wish list — and more. It had never flooded, was entirely outside the flood zone, and even featured a red wall — a quirky detail that matched the charm of many past homes they’d lived in, making it feel instantly familiar.

This was a home that felt right both practically and emotionally, and we moved quickly to secure it — negotiating well within the price guide and with favourable terms. Helping this family realise their long-held dream, under pressure and on a short timeline, was a privilege — and a reminder of just how powerful the right support at the right time can be.

I think I might need to write a testimonial book as I can’t find the words to thank you enough! We would not be here without you, that much I know.

We went on a journey together and I would do it all again as long as you are there to join me. Your enthusiasm to keep going when we were feeling down, your inside knowledge when we didn’t know where to turn and all that you do was just invaluable to us in fulling our dream!

Thank you, Thank you, SO much!
You have saved my sanity and our marriage multiple times during this process - Honestly you are AMAZING at what you do!
