This Buyer's Journey

When I first received the brief from the client’s, I knew we weren’t just searching for a rural property — we were searching for a rare creative sanctuary.

The clients were a well-known Australian band who were in the middle of a demanding international tour schedule. With most of their communication coming from the USA and Europe, our conversations had to happen across different time zones and through multiple decision-makers — from the band members themselves to their management team and representatives here in Australia.

How I helped find the perfect home

They came to us with a clear and detailed brief: a large, private, bushland property within close proximity to the beach, offering total seclusion and the creative space to build out multiple music studios. They needed the flexibility to rehearse, record, and make noise at any time of day — all without disturbing neighbours or compromising on comfort and accessibility.

That meant we had to find something incredibly rare. A property with real acreage, privacy, and creative potential — but also close to essential services, community, and lifestyle.
Properties of this calibre and size don’t come up often, and when they do, they’re often tightly held or snapped up quickly — especially if priced well.

After carefully refining options, I uncovered an exceptional 21-acre parcel just outside of Ocean Shores and a few minutes from the popular village of Billinudgel. What made this property truly special was its diversity — a long, private driveway crossing a picturesque creek opened up to stunning paddocks, bushland, and existing sheds and buildings and living spaces dotted throughout the land.

From a creative and practical perspective, it had everything: space to build out a fully equipped music studio, room for band members to stay and work independently, and total privacy. Yet, despite feeling like a remote retreat, it was under five minutes to shops, cafes, local services and only a short drive to the beaches of Brunswick Heads and New Brighton — both key lifestyle locations for the group.

With the clients overseas my role became even more hands-on. I coordinated virtual inspections, liaised with managers and legal representatives, and managed the offer and negotiation process entirely. Timing was critical — properties like this don’t stay available for long, and we knew we had to move quickly and decisively.

The end result is a property that offers both sanctuary and inspiration — a place where they can escape, create, and live on their own terms.
